Fiber pens and brooms: Karoline Schreiber (*1969, Bern and Zurich) draws. For over 30 years, she has been continuously exploring the medium of drawing, with her visual language being characterised by the diversity of technique, tool and tempo. Her drawings are transmitters of the unconscious, displaying all too human, displaced elements that can also tip over into the grotesque or uncanny, but also offer painfully humorous content. Karoline’s works make us think about the foreign within ourselves and have an unexpectedly liberating effect.
