Women's Medical Practice at Mühle
— Talaya Schmid, Aglaia Haritz, Monika Stalder
How can art shape spaces of healthcare? This exhibition offers thoughtful, delicate, and courageous responses to that question. With their works, artists Talaya Schmid, Monika Stalder, and Aglaia Haritz animate the practice's interiors, lending these intimate spaces a distinct atmosphere. Their aim is to inspire patients, visitors, and staff alike—both aesthetically and intellectually—while fostering an environment of mindfulness, trust, and care.
Talaya Schmid creates tactile, sensory experiences through her textile works. Her tufted vulvas, made from organic cotton, are abstract and playful statements celebrating the sexual power and diversity of the female body. They invite both a humorous and reflective exploration of female sexuality.
Aglaia Haritz works with needle and thread, reflecting not least on her own personal history. Her embroidered works address questions surrounding the role of the artist as both woman and mother within a society shaped by bureaucracy and the pressures of productivity.
Monika Stalder's paintings transport us into a realm of constantly shifting geometric constellations. At once analytical and mystical, they offer both cosmic vistas and microscopic insights, reminding us that everything is transient, continuously transforming and re-emerging.
With works by Talaya Schmid (*1983, Karlsruhe; lives in Zurich), Aglaia Haritz (*1978, Bellinzona; lives in Vira Gambarogno), Monika Stalder (*1981, Sumiswald; lives in Zurich)
